So, two weeks ago, my car battery died. Today, I went out to my car to go to Trader Joe's, and discovered a very, very flat tire. So, a call home to double-check that I just let AAA tell me what to do, then a call to AAA to get the tire changed (since I can't get enough torque to budge any of the lugnuts), then a trip over to Sears since they sold me the tires four years ago.
And I keep not giving Sears much money. Hallelujah for roadsize hazard insurance whatever that I didn't actually remember buying. Tire was repaired for free.
This is why I like Sears for these things: they have good warranties and nationwide locations just in case something happens when I'm not in my home district.
Also, the closer tire place is the NTB on East West Highway, literally walking distance from my apartment, and they have the worst reviews ever on Yelp. Sears may be slow when they get really busy, but I've never had an actual problem with them not taking no for an answer on upselling or completely forgetting about my car, which seem to be the issues with that NTB location. Will continue giving Sears my money for this sort of thing, and my local mechanic the business on everything else.
So today was a lot less productive than I had hoped. Meant to go grocery shopping and work on fic; ended up waiting for AAA, waiting for Sears, hitting TJ's at the godawful hour (I needed four things; I walked out with three of the four and a box of Joe-Joes, which is pretty good considering I was hungry by then), and just made a couple quick edits to get the next chapter of Corner of the Sky up. Will have to work on the heavier stuff, about three chapters on, some other time.
At least the car is taken care of without impinging on my London spending.
